I didn’t always consider myself a creative person, but now looking back, the signs were all pointing towards a resounding HELL YEA! I was always the kid with her nose stuck in a book, a journal within an arms reach, headphones pumping music and a camera in hand (this was way before the digital age). And now in adulthood, whenever my life starts feeling unmanageable, I find myself reaching for these same outlets to bring me a sense of security and comfort.
You would think that with juggling motherhood, marriage, a full time job, a photography business, a podcast, a social life, two dogs and a house and not to mention day to day adulting, that I couldn’t possibly take on one more single thing. And you’re 100% right. A wise person would probably stop right there and say that’s enough. But I’m not wise nor sane for that matter, I’m a CREATIVE! And for me, the thought of putting new thoughts and ideas out into the Universe and leaving my mark on the world brings me too much joy to say NO to another commitment.
“It’s been impossible to approach life without seeing things through the lens of parenthood.”
My life has changed significantly in the last three years. The biggest and most amazing change by far has been becoming a mother and since then, it’s been impossible to approach life without seeing things through the lens of parenthood. So my experience as a mother will certainly influence a lot of what I share here, but I’m not here to give advice on how to raise your children. I have one beautiful boy of my own and that’s about all the qualifications I have. I just want this to be a space where I can share the many stories and adventures I have with my son. A place to share the things that bring me joy and given my diverse interests, that could be MANY things! And most important, I want to start conversations about things that matter and build a community of like minded people. Like everything in my life, this is a work in progress and for once, I’m perfectly ok with that.
